Only one in four (24%) Britons believe that religion is a force for good in the world, though this rises to 39% who believe Christianity is a force for good. Among Christians themselves, two thirds (63%) believe their religion to be a force for good.
While there is little age difference on the views of religion as a force for good in the world, there are sharp differences on the issue of Christianity, with just 22% of those aged 18-24 believing Christianity is a force for good in the world compared to over half (55%) of those aged 65 or older.
